Camelot marks the first theatrical venture for Mr. Lerner and Mr. Loewe since My Fair Lady, one of the greatest musicals of the century and the world’s best-selling record album. Heading the cast of Camelot are the magnificent English actor Richard Burton, making his musical debut as King Arthur, and the fair Julie Andrews as Queen Guenevere.

Camelot, a musical based on the Arthurian legend, reunited most of the creative talent that produced My Fair Lady, including lyricist/librettist Alan Jay Lerner, composer Frederick Loewe, and leading lady Julie Andrews. Lerner had once again found a story that conformed to his favorite theme, a romantic triangle involving an older man, a younger.

Andrews brought her own beautiful English pronunciations and pure singing to light songs like "The Lusty Month of May" and "Then You May Take Me to the Fair," but she didn't really have a big number. Robert Goulet, making his Broadway debut, did, the show's standout song, "If Ever I Would Leave You," and he wrapped his powerful baritone voice.

Richard Harris is quite simply magnificent as arthur, the best actor to play the role on stage or screen. redgrave is compelling, although julie andrews singing is sorely missed. the film adds more of a tragic feel, not like the original broadway version which had more humor. lerner himself rewrote his stage production after the.
