This is, for me, one of Neil Young's finest albums. The tracks were sourced from a variety of aborted previous projects and are out together to make a long album (for ) of over an hour's music. It is simply a great rock album, full of all sorts of influences - rock, folk, Americana, Tex-Mex, soul - and delivered by a confident, wordly-wise /5().

Mar 12,  · With the tracks unnamed on their original release, the high fidelity Neil Young Archives site now titles the half-dozen instrumentals as “Dead Man, No. 1” through “Dead Man, No. 6,” plus.

A lot of Young fans don't even like it. As far as the Beatles songs, you may notice that every single song on every single album has its own page. Perhaps a bit of overkill, but this is the Beatles we're talking about. As great as Neil Young is, and I love his music, even he would agree that he is not on the same level as the Beatles.

Neil Young. out of 5 stars # 1 Best Seller in Folk Rock. Audio CD. $ I always loved the original album, but the remix is revelatory as you can hear more nuance in the playing, making it an experience like hearing the album again for the first time. The first CD of Dead Man's Pop (I wonder who came up with that title?) is a /5().

Dead Man is the soundtrack to the Jim Jarmusch western-themed film of the same name starring Gary Farmer, and Johnny Depp as William Blake. Neil Young recorded the soundtrack by improvising (mostly on Old Black, his famously customized electric guitar, with some acoustic guitar, piano and organ) as he watched the newly edited film alone in a recording studio.
