The first of two studio albums by the Bill Evans-Scott LaFaro-Paul Motian trio (both of which preceded their famous engagement at the Village Vanguard), this Portrait in Jazz reissue contains some wondrous interplay, particularly between pianist Evans and bassist LaFaro, on the two versions of "Autumn Leaves."Other than introducing Evans' "Peri's Scope," the music is comprised of standards.

Nirvana is an album by jazz flutist Herbie Mann with Bill Evans's Trio featuring Chuck Israels and Paul Motian. The great jazz pianist Bill Evans rarely recorded with flutists, but this exception marks a great collaboration between the jazz myawamufdidesreirostowartheotramen.coinfo musical synergy between the two is amazing, as they always become one on each track.

Bill Evans was frequently recorded when he traveled abroad for radio broadcast or by fans; numerous CDs have appeared of the pianist's trio from tours during the final year of his life. This Buenos Aires concert features Evans with bassist Marc Johnson and drummer Joe LaBarbera, in a well-recorded set that is from either a radio broadcast or soundboard recording.

Bill Evans and his trio made their third visit to Japan in Jan. ’ The trio’s drummer was changed to Eliot Zigmund from Marty Morell of the previous ’73 and ’74 tour. The Down Beat magazine of that year, March 11 issue, carries an article on Bill Evans by Len Lyons. In that article, Evans reveals a reason of this change to Lyons/5(52).
